Lovely so far!

I've previously only ordered trees from the Arbor Day Foundation, and these looked much healthier than those. Of course, it's MUCH too early to tell, but so far, so good. One arrived with full-size leaves and the other arrived with just the tiniest buds. A little strange for fall planting, but let's see! Spring will be the test.
Nice to see little bugs in the mycorrhizal mix!

Wish Fulfilled

Extremely happy with Eastern Hophornbeam tree purchase! Has grown robustly since planting 12 MAR 2020, as an under story with red oak, American beech,
black birch, and eastern hemlock. It grows wild on the mountain behind us; none found on our property. First encountered this ironwood in southern Vermont, where it's A.K.A. as lever wood. I've wanted my own hophornbeam for some time. Looking forward to next season's growth. Thank you.
